The Mingshan Cluster is adjacent to the Fengdu Mingshan Scenic Area, and is a comprehensive service base for the north bank folk culture tourism and the Mingshan Scenic Area. The urban design rejects the big-leap-forward urban transformation, and adopts a small-scale renewal method combining remediation, renovation and new construction according to the specific situation. Fully respecting the current environment and social ecology, the new buildings and spaces are organically implanted into the old city texture, so that the old and the new coexist and integrate with each other.

Taking “Famous Mountain Valley” as the spatial axis, the west bank is mainly for developing new low-intensity settlements, while the east bank is mainly for maintaining and renewing the old city, and moderately implanting new functions and new supporting facilities. There are five large-scale open green corridors with “four horizontal and one vertical”, forming a leaf-like green network system, which organically connects the city with mountains, water and riverside space. On the basis of updating the texture of the old city, four “characteristic neighborhoods” are created, containing multiple functions of residence, consumption, culture, tourism, creativity, education, and pension, becoming a vibrant center with mixed functions, social diversification, and rich characteristics.
