Huaxi River is an important first-class tributary in Chongqing, and the Huaxi River Wetland Park will become an important public activity place for the citizens. The Huaxi River meanders through the project site, creating a 1500-meter long shoreline and a blade-shaped peninsula, and the main theme of the program is to protect the waterfront landscape and maintain the ecological base. The scattered public green spaces in the control plan are transferred and integrated to the end of the peninsula and the south side of the site, constituting non-constructive spatial nodes in two ecologically and visually sensitive locations. Functionally, the node at the end of the peninsula will become a public “waterfront center”, providing a 270° waterfront place for the public and becoming the public landscape center of the region; the node at the south side of the site is similar to a “corner park”, enlarging the spatial scale of the intersection of the Inner Circle Expressway and the Yunan Diversion Road, and expanding the natural base of the Huaxi River shoreline on the east side.
Controlling the building height of the Peninsula area within 24 meters, the skyline as a whole is horizontally stretched, which is conducive to the most sensitive location of the sight line to achieve the “apparent air, breathable”; at the same time, it will also significantly reduce the development intensity of the ecologically sensitive areas on both sides of the Huaxi River.
